The Butter Battle
People eat goats here. Also, it has been too chilly for adventures-admittedly nowhere near New York cold, but still. However the pipes in our bathroom are all busted so as I type, we are being renovated. Which finally precipitated my acquisition of the word wáter, which sounded for the longest time to me like 'butter,' but actually means 'toilet.' Confusing, that- wáter is a version of 'water closet' I am told. Spanish speakers also use 'muffin' (moofin), which is only a muffin with stuff in it (a plain one is a magdalena, which can also be something like a pound cake) and examenes tipo test (multiple choice tests). They have carnival here in a bit, so hopefully I can venture out to get some pics then. Stay warm, y'all.
