The lunadog and I went for a stroll in the forest. In spite of her 84 dog years, she sounded like a herd of springbok. She positively launched herself into Chester Creek from a log, into a body of water that was closed off by fallen trees and had a doggie panic attack. All was forgotten with some beef flavor Canine Carry Out.
We swam with the fishes (waded with guppies?) in the creek.
And August is usually when the cardinal flowers bloom, down by the water...
And the ferns are out...
and the hardwoods are getting their phyllotaxy on.
Not too shabby, folks.

The Bitness
Barbara Ehrenreich knows what's up.
So does Paul Krugman.
I'd vote for 'em. Probably they're too busy doing useful stuff.
The plutocracy wins not because it intentionally sets out to mess us up, but because its side effects create too much work for the good people who won't let the bad things go.
